Clifton Terrace is an excellent school with lovely children. All involved with the school are extremely proud to be part of it.
The school has a roll which reaches a peak of approximately 300 in December. There are 14 classrooms. Our children arrive here from a variety of early childhood centres and move on after Year 6 to an intermediate school. Intranet and Internet are features of our school information and communication technology systems, with each classroom having its own e-mail address.
We have several strong extra-curricular programmes including a talented Maori Kapa Haka Group and a school orchestra. There are in-school music and dance classes available on site, and a variety of weekend sports available to pupils. The school has a Gifted and Talented Education (G.A.T.E.) extension class. Children with special skills in other areas of the curriculum have the opportunity for extension in physical education, art and music.
Our school is proud of the way it has significantly reduced the problem of bullying, a behaviour which is of concern to all schools. This has taken many years, but is succeeding.
